Waterless Printing

High Tech for High Touch

Waterless printing is an offset printing process which does not require water or moisture in contrast to conventional printing processes. Special aluminium printing plates and a system which maintains the temperature constant during the printing process are essential for the waterless printing process.

Brilliant, individual, accurate

Main advantage of waterless printing is the enhanced printing quality achieved through greater definition; the design details appear much more incisive.  In addition more colour variations can be produced using four-colour printing - special customer colours can also be used. What's more, waterless printing does not require a film.  This reduces possible sources of error arising from missing points in the contact print.  The development work carried out by BPE in respect of lithography has led to a significant enhancement in the printing process used for beverage cans.

Constant enhancements in this field have been used to produce beverage can designs with even greater definition, virtually in photographic quality, giving the cans a more elegant appearance. This printing process has no effect whatsoever on the beverage can production rate.

Currently we can only supply our customers with limited quantities of beverage cans designed using the waterless printing process, for example for special editions. As we are continuously advancing this technology, it will be possible to also supply larger quantities in the near future.
