Beer has been canned for more than 75 years – and for good reason. The beverage can is the only light-proof and gas-proof container.

Beer is particularly sensitive to light because light generates chemical reactions in the hops. In the metal cylinder, the beer is completely protected from such adverse influences. The gas impermeability is an additional safety factor: Oxygen cannot penetrate the can and carbon dioxide cannot escape. The quality of the beer therefore remains constant in the can far longer than in any other container.
